In 2002, when I watched Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man on VHS from my crib, I was instantly hooked to the character the same way I was to sneaker culture when I saw the “Freshwater” Air Griffey Max 1’s for the first time in ‘09. “

Miguel Feliz’s (Spider-Migz) origin story starts off born and raised in The Bronx in a Dominican household. Spending the majority of his childhood with his grandmother—a skilled seamstress, tailor, and passionate bibliophile—it was only fitting that he too would fall in love with both craftsmanship and storytelling. Her hands taught him the value of design, while her love of education and reading, sparked a deep love of storytelling that later found its way into his approach to sneaker design.

Now twenty-six, Miguel continues to blend culture, storytelling, and sport into everything he creates. In 2024, he moved across the country to Portland, Oregon—the heart of the U.S. footwear industry—to chase his dream of designing sneakers. The move wasn’t just about geography; it was a leap of faith rooted in passion and purpose.

At the age of twenty-six, when he’s not working or spending time with his friends and family, Miguel is constantly creating, remaining studious and exploring his new home of Portland, Oregon. Creating concept colorways, new graphic designs, playing basketball, reading Spider-Man comics, and watching video essays are just a few things Miguel does in his off time.
